Adult ADHD Assessment, Regulated At Every Step.

Private” shouldn’t mean “unregulated.” Your assessment is carried out by a [[GMC-registered specialist]] following NICE guideline NG87 and DSM-5-TR criteria — the same standards as NHS services. Here is exactly how it works, what it costs, and what happens afterwards.

CLINICAL GOVERNANCE

Regulated At Every Step, Not Just At The Top.

Inclura Health is [[registered with the Care Quality Commission — number]]. Every assessing clinician holds current [[GMC / HCPC / NMC]] registration, published on their profile and linked to the public register so you can verify it yourself — before you book, not after.

What is an adult ADHD assessment?

An adult ADHD assessment is a structured clinical interview with a qualified specialist covering your developmental history, current symptoms, and how they show up across different areas of your life — not a five-minute checklist, computer test or questionnaire score.

You want your childhood diagnosis reviewed as an adult. Confirm process and fee

Life got harder

Difficulties surfaced at university, in a new role, or after having children — when demands outgrew the coping strategies.

Who we cannot assess

Exclusion criteria — confirmed by clinical lead, We would rather tell you now than take a booking we should not.

If you are in crisis

An assessment is not the right next step. Contact your GP, call 111, or 999 in an emergency. Samaritans are free on 116 123, at any hour. We will still be here afterwards.

WHAT HAPPENS

The criteria

How Is Adult ADHD Diagnosed? Five Tests, All Must Be Met.

Enough symptoms

At least five symptoms of inattention and/or five of hyperactivity-impulsivity, present six months or more (DSM-5-TR, per NICE NG87).

Present since childhood

Several symptoms present before age 12. Not being diagnosed as a child does not count against you; the evidence just has to exist.

More than one setting

Difficulties at work and home, for example — not one context only.

Genuine impact

Clear interference with functioning or quality of life.

Not better explained

Anxiety, depression, sleep, trauma, autism, thyroid, substance use and bipolar are actively considered, not skipped.

The whole picture

Having something else does not rule out ADHD; conditions co-occur. Where more than one thing is present, we say so.

The Report

A report that stands up.

A full written report, not a certificate: the outcome and reasoning · which criteria were met and the evidence for each · other conditions considered and why · recommendations · monitoring guidance if medication is discussed. Written to be useful to your GP, an employer or a university — and to stand up to scrutiny, including a GP considering shared care.

Whatever the outcome

Diagnosed Or Not, You Leave With An Answer.

If you are diagnosed

Your follow-up covers what it means and your options — medication (which involves titration over weeks or months; read our shared care page, because ongoing prescribing depends on your GP), non-medication support, workplace and study support, or doing nothing for now — a legitimate choice.

If you are not diagnosed

Some people do not meet the criteria. That is not a failed assessment — often something else explains your experience, and your clinician tells you what they found and what might help. Our fee covers the assessment, whatever its outcome. You should know that before you book, not after.

FAQ

Everything we charge for is on our pricing page, including the costs that only apply to some people.
A adult ADHD assessment can take between 90 mins up to two hours of direct talk time with a specialist. This does not include the pre questionnaires that need to be filled out prior to you appointment to get the most comprehensive understanding of your symptoms

There are no single biological markers or blood tests that can signify or diagnose ADHD. The Ault ADHD assessment is a robust clinical process which combines a review of your medical history, interviews, behavioural questionnaires in order to determine how your symptoms affect your day to day life.

1. Current Struggles Our ADHD specialists will ask you open questions on your relationships, your work, your sleeping patterns amongst other relevant social patterns.
2. Comprehensive childhood history The symptoms associated with ADHD must be present before 12 years of age as ADHD is a neurodevelopment condition. Your practitioner wil methodically go through your childhood history. How you performed and what you struggled with.

You can call our professional patient liaison team who will guide you through the process. They will be happy to answer any questions you have before booking on to your assessment.

The NICE standards state that a specialist referral should be made if a patient is presenting with symptoms of ADHD that were also present in childhood and are also causing functional difficulties.

• Finding it difficult to keep concentration or finish tasks or prioritise important tasks effectively
• Procrastination- Delaying tasks until close to deadlines or not completing them
• Feeling restless or the need to constantly be doing something
• Struggling at work, with relationships, in education or home life because of these sustained patterns.
• Acting impulsively- Making sudden major decisions without thinking through the consequences, interrupting others in conversations. Importantly, experiencing some of these difficulties does not necessarily mean that you have ADHD. A robust ADHD assessment will look at your developmental history, mental health, and physical health, and the impact it has on your overall functioning.

Still deciding? A two minute check costs nothing.

ADHD Screener ~2 minutes

Could it be ADHD?

This short screener covers the symptom areas clinicians assess — attention, restlessness and impulsivity — to indicate whether a full assessment may be worthwhile. It is a screening tool, not a diagnosis.

Who is this screening for?

Almost done — where should we send your results?

Enter your details to see your results on screen and receive a copy, along with a short guide on what to do next.

This screener is an educational tool and does not provide a medical diagnosis. Only a qualified clinician can diagnose ADHD following a full clinical assessment. A positive screen does not mean you (or your child) have ADHD, and a negative screen does not rule it out. If you are struggling, please speak to your GP or a mental health professional.
